Christmas Time!

On the Background:

Joseph being a righteous man didn’t want to expose Mary to public disgrace after he had learned that Mary was pregnant with a baby.

When he was pondering about this; the following incident happened:

But after he (Joseph) had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins" (Matthew 1:20,21)

And Joseph obeyed the divine instruction and took Mary as His wife for they were earlier betrothed to each other.

And at the appointed time Christ the Savior was born….

That’s what we call the Beginning of Christmas…

This happened in accordance to the covenant God had made with Man; since the fall of Adam…

The birth of the Messiah was awaited for centuries…
The Wise and the pious pondered about the exact timings and seasons that would foretell the coming of the Holy One…

This is what one of the Prophets Isaiah had to say:
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

With hundreds of other prophesies recorded in the Scriptures the Lamb who takes away the sins of the world was born…But not in the way the people expected….

He started as a baby…
 He came in our Likeness….
 He was meek and humble…
 He was one among them..

He was with them in the marketplace…
 He was loving and caring…
He played and worked with them…
He participated with them in their ceremonies…

And when He started His father’s work; the past made people doubt about who He was..
They expected a King who would dethrone the Romans and reinstate the Israeli regime
But when He came as a Lamb they couldn’t take it

Yes.. they rejected Him for no reason… yet He loved them as His own Children…

He didn’t lose His temper when people spat on Him and talked ill about Him…
He didn’t curse those who blasphemed against Him…
Instead He forgave them as he loved them and knew that they were doing it out of ignorance..
To show His Love and to fulfill the Will of His Father; He denied Himself and took the cross so that the purpose of God concerning us be fulfilled in Him…
He defeated evil and the powers of darkness by His death and Resurrection.

With it He completed the Christmas Season for a better endless reason… Of living eternally in Him…

And the New Christmas will begin when He returns with a New World Order filled with Love, Joy and Happiness…
I hope you will partake in it…

Wish u & ur Family a
Merry & Melodious Christmas

Man's Greatest Need

What is man's greatest need? Is it food or shelter or employment?

There is no doubt that we need all these. Without them we could not exist. We need food for our bodies, we need clothing to wear, we need shelter and we need employment to support ourselves and our families. We cannot devalue the importance of any of these. But in the materialistic age in which we live today, man's great danger is forgetting that he is not a creature of time, but of eternity - that within his body there dwells a spirit, which in terms of relative values is far more important than the body. The body and its needs are important, but the spirit and its needs are far more important.

If you had a pet dog in your house that became sick, you would take it to the veterinary doctor and get it treated. But if you had a sick child at home at the same time and you had to choose between taking the child or the dog to the doctor, you would certainly take your child first. Not because your dog is not important, but because your child is more important. In just the same way, the spirit within us is far more important than our body.

Have you ever considered the matter of your spirit's needs, with an unprejudiced mind?

Prejudice is a deadly thing that blinds people's minds and prevents them from coming to a true understanding of God, a true  understanding of their spiritual need and a true understanding of the reason for their existence on earth.

Many live with unsolved problems all their lives because they have approached life with preconceived ideas and prejudices. Are you willing to approach the truth concerning religion and eternity with an open mind? You may find that some facts are different from what you have always believed to be true. But before we proceed further, do you really want to know the truth at any cost?

If you are in dead earnest, you can know the truth. Not otherwise. The Bible says that God rewards those who diligently seek Him. Any man, woman or child, from any religion, can know the truth about God and Jesus Christ, if he seeks it with an open mind and with all his heart.

What happens to a man when he dies? Is death a cessation of all existence? No. Life on earth is an introduction to eternity. We are on probation here on earth and God is watching us. Our life here on earth is going to determine what our eternity is going to be like.

God knows the real truth about each of our lives. We may fool our friends about our goodness, but we can't fool God. In God's eyes all are guilty for we have all come short of His high and holy standards.

Man was created to have fellowship with God. If he doesn't have this, he has failed to fulfill the primary purpose of his existence on earth. This fellowship with God can never be enjoyed till the guilt of his sin is removed.

What do we consider God to be like? People in the world have different ideas about God. But no one has ever seen God at anytime. And so all our own ideas about God are useless. The Bible says that Jesus Christ came down to earth from Heaven and revealed God to man. He was God manifest in human form.

Here is the truth:

Jesus Christ revealed God, as a God full of holiness and full of love. How can the guilt of our sin be removed from our lives? Many people have a great problem with guilt in their lives? They do not find a solution. But there is an answer in Jesus Christ! What is it?

It is not enough merely to repent and feel sorry. If I were convicted in court of a bank robbery and my father were the judge, he could not let me go just because I was sorry for what I had done. He may love me as my father but he sits there in court as a judge. And so he has to punish me for the crime that I've committed, even if I am sorry and even if he loves me as his son.

If we believe in a God who is just, we must surely recognize that He must be more just than human beings. How then can He let us off merely because we are sorry or merely because He loves us?

He is perfectly just; and justice demands punishment.

But my father can do something in court that could help me. He could fine me the full penalty of the law and say - "You are fined Rs.100,000/-". He could then take Rs.100,000/- of his own hard-earned money and give it to me saying –"Son, here's the money! Go, pay your fine and be free!"

Do you see what he has done? As a judge he punished me and as a father he paid the punishment himself.

This is what God has done. He says to all mankind - "You are guilty and the punishment you deserve is death." As a Judge He punishes us. But then He also loves us and so came down in the person of Jesus Christ and paid that punishment Himself. This is why Christ died - to pay the penalty for our guilt.

The proof that this is true lies in the fact that Christ came out alive from the grave, three days after He had died. Jesus Christ overcame death. He is living today.

These are facts for us to believe. But there is something for us to DO as well. When my father offers me the money in the court, if I don't receive it from his hand, I cannot go free. Similarly the pardon that God offers us in Jesus Christ has to be received.

If we don't accept it, we can never benefit from it. God offers you pardon in Jesus Christ today.

But you have to choose to receive it.

your self esteem must come from God

But now, this is what the LORD says--he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. Isaiah 43:1

Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones said,
'Though you are one of the teeming millions in this world, and though the world would have you believe that you do not count and that you are but a speck in the mass, God says, 'I know you.' How wonderful is that?

Take a moment and consider the things in life that rob us of self-esteem. Words such as,
'I don't want you; I don't love you anymore.' Or ‘'You're unsuitable for the job; sorry, we have to let you go.' Or, 'You keep making the same stupid mistakes. You'll never get it right.' Or,'Why can't you be like your brother, or your sister, or so-and-so?'

Understand this:

1) Your self-esteem cannot be based on what you do for a living. Because when you can no longer do it you'll feel worthless. Think about some of the famous people you know: athletes, artists, speakers, etc. When they can no longer do what they do they often get depressed, even suicidal.

2) Your self-esteem cannot be based on what you own. Recently the U.S. housing market lost up to 40% of its value in one year. Millions of people saw their social status go down and their financial security go up in smoke.

3) Your self-esteem cannot be based on other people's opinion because it will always make you vulnerable to rejection.

What's the solution?

Discover what God thinks about you and build your life on it.

Walking in purity

"He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; he will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Then the LORD will have men who will bring offerings in righteousness." Malachi 3:3

When gold is refined over extreme heat the first thing to come to the surface is dross (impurity). The next thing to be separated from it is silver, a less precious metal that blends with the raw gold ore. There's an important lesson here. Most of us are unable to separate the good from the best, so Malachi writes, 'He will purify... and refine them like gold'.God does it, because we don't know how!

After committing adultery with Bathsheba, David writes,

'Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me' (Psalm 51:10).

David prays for two things: a clean heart and a steadfast desire to walk in purity.

Personal failure is usually the result of a slow, steady build-up, rather than a single act of disobedience. It happens when we focus on the wrong things and neglect our spiritual life.So God calls us to the place of solitude, a place with no distractions, in order to probe our deepest thoughts and open our eyes to certain issues that need attention. It is here He makes us aware of what we excuse, or try to hide from others. It's here the junk we've collected during the busy hours of our day gets filtered out.

With the debris out of the way, we're able to see things more clearly and respond to God's nudgings. There's no way to have a deeper, more intimate relationship with God without the discipline James talks about: 'Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.' (James 4:8).

Your son is here

A nurse took the tired, anxious serviceman to the bedside. "Your son is here," she said to the old man.She had to repeat the words several times before the patient's eyes opened. Heavily sedated because of the pain of his heart attack, he dimly saw the young uniformed Marine standing outside the oxygen tent.

He reached out his hand.

The Marine wrapped his toughened fingers around the old man's limp ones, squeezing a message of love and encouragement. The nurse brought a chair so that the Marine could sit beside the bed. All through the night the young Marine sat there in the poorly lighted ward, holding the old man's hand and offering him words of love and strength. Occasionally, the nurse suggested that the Marine move away and rest awhile. He refused.

Whenever the nurse came into the ward, the Marine was oblivious of her and of the night noises of the hospital - the clanking of the oxygen tank, the laughter of the night staff members exchanging greetings, the cries and moans of the other patients.

Now and then she heard him say a few gentle words. The dying man said nothing, only held tightly to his son all through the night.Along towards dawn, the old man died. The Marine released the now lifeless hand he had been holding and went to tell the nurse. While she did what she had to do, he waited. Finally, she returned. She started to offer words of sympathy, but the Marine interrupted her.

"Who was that man?" he asked. The nurse was startled, "He was your father," she answered.
"No, he wasn't," the Marine replied.  "I never saw him before in my life."

"Then why didn't you say something when I took you to him?"
"I knew right away there had been a mistake,
but I also knew he needed his son, and his son just wasn't here. When I realized that he was too sick to tell whether or not I was his son, knowing how much he needed me, I stayed."

I came here tonight to find one Mr. William Grey.

His Son was Killed in Iraq today, and I was sent to inform him.

     What was this Gentleman's Name?

The Nurse with Tears in Her Eyes Answered...Mr. William Grey.............

The next time someone needs you ... just be there.

We are not human beings going through a temporary spiritual experience, but spiritual beings going through a temporary human experience.
"Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit." Galatians 6:8

Gladys Staines - Extraordinary Forgiveness

January the 22nd, 1999, is a day forever etched in the memory of Gladys Staines. It is the day that her husband Graham, along with their young sons, Timothy and Philip, were burnt alive by a group of around 50 religious extremists in Orissa, India, where Graham had been working with the poor, especially those with leprosy.

(The Jeep where the Staines were sleeping)
Gladys has an amazing story to tell of how she and her daughter were able to forgive those who killed those they loved. While their forgiveness was offered right away, the healing took a lot longer.

For Sister Gladys and her daughter it would have been the most tragic day in their lives.
They would have not dreamt of it.

But when the blitzkrieg struck; they were not flooded with self-pity and vengeance. Instead Forgiveness was ruling their hearts. She was willing to forgive those who have murdered her husband and two sons. The struggles within her and the accusations raised by her own conscious mind didn’t stop her from taking the bold decision to forgive whoever had done this cruel act.She carried the perfume of Christ in her humble acts. She not only served her Lord during the times of harmony but even when the worst tsunami had swallowed her entire house-hold.She is now with her daughter continuing her work for the Kingdom of God.

It is truly remarkable to think that Gladys stayed on in India for many years to continue the work that her husband had begun many years earlier. Many people have been inspired by her life and her determination to continue serving God in a land far from her home country of Australia.
Lesson to be Learnt:
Forgiveness is the best medicine for the eternal cure. Gladys exhibited it. Its time for us to look into the areas of our own lives where we haven’t forgiven or forgotten the misdeeds committed against us…. Lets turn our hearts to be merciful…. because Mercy triumphs over Judgement……

A friend of mine named Paul received an automobile from his brother as a Christmas present.
On Christmas Eve when Paul came out of his office, a street urchin was walking around the shiny new car, admiring it.
"Is this your car, Mister?" he asked.
Paul nodded. "My brother gave it to me for Christmas."

The boy was astounded. "You mean your brother gave it to you and it didn't cost you nothing?
 Boy, I wish..." He hesitated.
Of course Paul knew what he was going to wish for.
He was going to wish he had a brother like that.

But what the lad said jarred Paul all the way down to his heels.
"I wish," the boy went on, "that I could be a brother like that."
Paul looked at the boy in astonishment, then impulsively he added, "Would you like to take a ride in my automobile?"
"Oh yes, I'd love that."

After a short ride, the boy turned and with his eyes aglow, said, "Mister, would you mind driving in front on my house?"
Paul smiled a little.
He thought he knew what the lad wanted.
He wanted to show his neighbors that he could ride home in a big automobile.

But Paul was wrong again. "Will you stop where those two steps are?" the boy asked.
He ran up the steps. Then in a little while Paul heard him coming back, but he was not coming fast.
He was carrying his little crippled brother.
He sat him down on the bottom step, then sort of squeezed up against him and pointed to the car.

"There she is, Buddy, just like I told you upstairs.
His brother gave it to him for Christmas and it didn't cost him a cent.
And some day I'm gonna give you one just like it... then you can see for yourself all the pretty things in the Christmas windows that I've been trying to tell you about."

Paul got out and lifted the lad to the front seat of his car.
The shingled-eyed older brother climbed in beside him and the three of them began a memorable holiday ride.
That Christmas Eve, Paul learned what Jesus meant when he had said,
"It is more blessed to give than to receive"
