The picture you see below is a shot of the central region of the Whirlpool Galaxy (Messier Object #51)
The next picture shows the constellation Crux (the 4 bright stars a little left to the centre).
It so happened that, on the night before my first Holy Communion, i opened my window randomly and looked out into the sky to see this constellation right in front of me :)
